Organizing Work on Learning Circle Projects
Once the projects are defined and students begin their
writing, two questions often surface:
How many messages should we send?
How should we decided which student work to send?
Organizing your classroom response to involve each student
in at least one Learning Circle project can ensure the success of all
projects sponsored in your Circle. There are a number
of ideas described in Learning
Circle Phase 4 for cooperative
writing strategies and for dealing with survey
requests.
If students finish their writing and send it early, there
may be enough time for feedback and comments between section editors and
writers. This can be a very effective way of providing "objective" peer
review as the students in distant classrooms cannot be influenced by personal
ties or friendships patterns that are a part of classroom interaction.
